Pastor Kevin Labby Calls Tullian Tchividjian to Repentance

At approximately 8:30 PM on Thursday, December 1, 2016, the following statement from Pastor Kevin Labby – on behalf of the session of Willow Creek – was published by Warren Throckmorton.

In this statement, Labby and the Willow Creek session expressed their support r the women who have recently shared allegarions of pastoral abuse against Tullian Tchividjian.  Further, he stated:

We would also like to state in the clearest possible terms that we do not believe that Mr. Tchividjian should be in any form of public or vocational ministry.

Labby went on to call Tullian to repentance, asking that he submit himself to the discipline process of his presbytery and begin the process of true repentance.  The reader is encouraged to read his full statement here.

For those unfamiliar, Willow Creek was the church which hired Tullian Tchividjian in 2015, after he was forced to resign from Coral Presbyterian after confessing to an “affair.”  Tchividjian was subsequently fired from Willow Creek when further unconfessed sexual misconduct became public.

The allegations mentioned above refer to recent posts published by myself:

And by Julie Anne and Brad Sargent of Spiritual Sounding Board

I would like to extend my thanks to Pastor Labby for his support and encouragement offered in this statement.
